Birds of a feather

I have been busy and the weather has been terrible for me so haven't gone out with my camera much. Perhaps I shall again soon.
We use this to identify them including calls.

Looks like a good app, makes me want an M1 mac even more so I can use it easily on the desktop though.

I have the iPhone app.

Opportunism in the garage. That's dad on duty:

but mum's not far away:

I'm not a fan of magpies - or rather, not a fan of the squealing of the youngsters for food just after dawn, but this is OK:

A Darwin finch, Isabella Island, Galapagos

Flightless gannet, Isabella:

and, yeah, whatever floats your boat:

Penguinos on the equator :)

Still on Isabella - blue footed coughies

Who you staring at, bud?

Later that day at Isabella island, Galapagos, a very delicate dance:

Genovesa Island, and a red-footed coughy (what else :) )

Magnificent frigate birds, males with inflatable sac to attract a female:

This little guy decided that this lady's shoelaces would be great nesting material. The rule at Galapagos is to keep 2m from any animal, and if an animal approaches you, you freeze.

Indeed, but with one of the new ARM macs you can run iPhone and iPad apps on your mac, opening up a world of possibilities.

Great photos from the Galapagos Islands!
Makes it difficult to carry into the field though.:)

More about when you get home and you're looking through your snaps and want to make sure you are categorising them properly. Sure, I could use my smaller phone screen... or I could simply open the app on my computer (if it allows) and more easily search, compare, copy and paste etc.

Slimbridge Wetland Centre I spent a day here in 2017 and loved it. They have 7 different kinds of flamingos

Your lovely flamingo pictures reminded me of mine at Galapagos - and all those other ones.

On Santa Cruz island we went for a guided walk and were promised flamingos on an inland lagoon. Here is the flock:

Yes, just one, single, solitary flamingo. I think it was the 'emergency' one, so, if tourists arrive and there's no birds, they hit a button and this one pops up from the water. Actually, it did perform a bit :)

Elsewhere on Santa Cruz, more coughies:
