Wines can vary significantly from vintage to vintage!!!

Leconfield is a great drop at cellar door prices, and can generally be enjoyed early, or with some healthy age on it.

I haven't tasted the 2015, so will reserve comment on the specifics of that vintage, but I am quietly confident of drinking and cellaring potential.


FWIW - I almost never drink wine on the second or third day. I generally find most table wine (especially Australian) is well "past it" with that much oxygen.

I find if I pour half a bottle into a smaller "half bottle" and pop it back in the wine fridge, that tends to dramatically slow down any oxidation, and you sometimes get quite nice wine by day 2.

I have done this from time to time also.
The Wirra Wirra Church Block bottles are particularly good for getting a better seal.

I still tend to enjoy most on the day/night of opening.

I have to disagree with you there - my Fruity Gordo Moselle is the same from one year to the next. I just have to make sure the SodaStream has a fresh gas bottle.

My regimen is to try and stick to a glass (quite a large one mind!) Monday through to Thursday and then let my head go with a couple on Frid/Sat/Sunday so the Vacu Vin allows me around three nights supping out of one bottle, I could easily drink more than that but my recovery rate is very slow in the morning these days :-| Great thread on paraphernalia btw, I'd forgotten about it....

Yes we use the vacuum pump all the time. Try to have one bottle over 2 nights. Husband could easily drink more, haha!
