Forgot to Apply for BT on application

Does anyone have experience with westpac and BTs? I've just applied for a CC and got conditionally approved but I just remembered I forgot to apply for the BT! What are my options? Any chances I could get the promo before the card is activated?

Make sure you don't activate the card until you are completely happy. After activating the card it would be too late.

Call them once you receive the card and before you activate and you've got a pretty good chance from my general experience. The worst they can say is no.

I don't think I've done it with WBC, but a few times I have activated a new card, made the minimum spend for the sign on bonus points, paid that off and then called and asked the bank to do a balance transfer at the promo rate. I can't recall being turned down, but I had to work for it a couple of times.

What was the deal? Check with Westpac on available balance transfers. In November they had 0% balance transfer for 15 months which I used.

P.S. I wouldn't worry too much. Most credit card companies accept balance transfer applications after card has been mailed out.

Most credit cards dont work well with Balance Transfers and Purchases at the same time. If you signed up hoping for a poiints bonus after a minimum spend this could be a very costly exercise.
