Gift from Amex

I only received a $30 Westfield gift card. Felt nice to receive something for nothing. But I'm no big spender on my card.

I throw out my AMEX mail....were they sent out for the NAB QANTAS

Last week I received a $30 westfield. This week I received a $200 west field gift card. This time it was even more surprising. Anyone else get two gift cards? I thought $30 was a small amount. But $200 is definitely gonna get me something nice. I was disappointed that I missed out on virgin blue offer ($50 voucher) by 2 days but this surely makes up for it.

I'm sure the $200 one was meant for me :mrgreen:

Sad to say, but no gifts have come my way!

Received $100 Coles gift card last week from Amex. Platinum Edge card here and I just paid my first Amex bill. It wasn't much, around $3k. Thanks Amex

Well I got a glowing thank you letter saying if there was any way they could help me just call a particular 1 800 number.
I have taken the view that members like myself won't get much as I have had the card since 1979.
I don't ask for special stuff as the uncapped 1.5 points a dollar works great.
Amex Ultimate gives me a free coast to coast Economy ticket and I pay them a bit extra to get a points upgradeable one and turn it into a J return so all good with that idea.
The absolute best thing Amex did was to get us each a big credit limit so zoom,zoom,zoom go that points number on each of our monthly statements.
Without a gift I am still a big fan and I don't have a problem of them buying new or bigger business any way that works for them.

On the topic of fees, i hold a plat amex credit card (now called the reserve plat card)...have not paid fees on this for about 4 years...of course this year they would not budge on the fees...in saying that i did get 2 customer loyalty bonuses in 2010...20000 & 40000 points (the 40K pts was an accelerated promo they gave me for 12 months). They did say if i chose to cancel my card the 40K points would have to be re-credited back....so just accepted the fee and moving on quietly now.

PS ..have not received any gift apart from promos..

Gold fee free Amex since 2005.
Plat edge $99 annual fee. Like sharp75, I only paid 3rd month plat statement.
So couldn't tell ya whether it's from gold or plat.

I might give Amex a call and see how far I can push it. Granted I've only had my card for a short while but I think the last couple of bills I've paid should reward me with something

I've had my platinum charge card for 4 months now, spend is 5-8k per month. Didn't receive anything

My wife received a $50 gift card in the mail, new to Amex with Plat Edge as she previously had a supplementary card on my account. Spent $600.00 in last 3 months so quite surprised as she only spent $ 600 as a Amex member.

Me on the other hand hold a Plat Reserve / Gold Charge Card spend around 30 k a year- Yet No Gift

Yay! I finally got the $50 Coles Gift Card! This will definitely help with filling the car with $1.65 per litre petrol :shock:

BTW I am also an Edge Card primary cardholder.

Coles card can't be used in coles express, as I recall.
