Give me a reason to part with cash

I coughed up what I thought was a measly $35 for a gold membership. If I only learn one thing from this site it is worth the cash. Can't think of anything else that lasts a lifetime for such a low fee. Hopefully in the background there is somebodys job I have helped support. I encourage all lurkers to go for gold! Maybe one day I will be fortunate enought to meet some fellow AFFers and even get an invite to a lounge I wouldn't normally have access to. What about joining not because you want something but because you have something to contribute?

I signed up the same day as your post but Gold membership cost me $50 a year (not complaining = great value).
