Hotel close to Bangkok Airport

My wife and I have an overnight stay in Bangkok coming up. We been to Bangkok a few times so we just want to stay as close to the airport as possible in a reasonable hotel. I'd prefer not to have to change money for taxis etc so something within walking distance or a hotel which has a frequent shuttle service would be ideal.

any recommendations. I've heard the Novotel fits the bill

Novotel is fabulous and indeed it is just a walk - although there is also a bus if you're lazy. Can also be a bit spendy sometimes.

If you want cheap and cheerful (clean safe reliable aircon but with what could be described as a FIRM mattress), then I recommend the Regent Regent Suvarnabhumi - A perfect place for stop-over near Bangkok Airport the hotel is suitable for transit | Suvarnabhumi Airport Hotel Bangkok | Hotel Official Website - they run a pick up/drop off minibus. 5 min drive. I've stayed there twice for a quick overnight and it's been seamless both times. Especially useful if you arrive late into BKK (say on QF) but want to fly somewhere else early the next morning

I too can recommend Novotel Suvarnabhumi; just about to do another shoot there from the 19th. Easy access from the airport; clean comfortable and when the Crown Prince isn't flying TG - access not a problem to your floor (had to do a round-about entry a few times on the last shoot.)

I'd be using this one if I ever do the ADL-BKK-LHR flight again; now I only have to worry about the BKK-LHR leg! :mrgreen:

Yes, novotel airport is good. Book through Asia rooms or agoda for a better deal, but take into account the mucking about getting elsewhere if the novotel comes in more expensive. It's a short walk to the terminal and also has regular shuttles. There's some room pics on my Vietnam trip report.
