Qantas 380 business seat

flying Syd-dfw 18/10, current seat 12f. Front row seats a,b,e,f have opened. I’m overweight, just wondering if I take one of these seats, will I have more room to settle initially. I’m a bit clumsy. I’ve put in upgrade to first, waiting.

parsonstrish, it is a while since I flew a QF A380, and although I am not overweight I am unusually tall and likewise "clumsy" I would go for the first row seats (I am assuming you mean 11a/b/e/f) - so either 11 e or f as you have aisle with noone needing to get past you. I think these are better than row 12 as you only have people to the sides and behind, not sides, behind, AND in front of you.

Best of luck for the upgrade to F - that is real flying for us with none-standard body frames

Do you not find the light leakage annoying?

I usually take 12E. I've sat in row 11 a few times and the lights peeking through the curtain (and noise if people are in the lounge) gets a bit annoying.

I've not been in row 11, but would avoid it due to proximity to the lounge, especially on the starboard side. Row 12 would be my pick.

As for more room, it would be marginal if any. There is no shortage of space.

Interesting. The "lounge" has usually seemed pretty empty on the right, whereas the left has traffic to the self serve bar area a little but also the CSM (I assume) has their work desk at the very front on that side which can make it a focus for staff activity as well. Personally I'd go for row 11 as I find the ritual of restacking all the crockery in the gallery very noisy and annoying at the start of each leg, if not each meal.

I'm a 12F man myself. Too many people walking in front of you to cross rows in row 11.

No first class upgrade, business is fine.

I've flown in Row 11 before (starboard) & I did not have a problem with foot traffic because no one used the lounge. I think I may've had a problem on the port side because of the CSM office on that side. That is more frequently used.

I stayed n 12f, didn’t get upgrade, not sorry, got great seat mate, ended up on flt deck dfw
