All P1 counters state the 2700 SC requirement on QF flight numbers. Not a P1 myself, but this is my current Status counter, suggesting I need 2120 SC's to be P1, but then saying I actually need 2,700SC's..

I think you're misunderstanding that. Not a P1 myself, but this is my current Status counter, suggesting I need 2120 SC's to be P1, but then saying I actually need 2,700SC's..

Mine usually shows the same, it’s what happens when you qualify for WP based on OneWorld partner flights rather than Qantas metal. Not a P1 myself, but this is my current Status counter, suggesting I need 2120 SC's to be P1, but then saying I actually need 2,700SC's..

The 2120 SC is correct to reach minimum 3600 SC for platinum one. As part of the 3600 total, a minimum 2700 must be flown with a QF flight number. Not a P1 myself, but this is my current Status counter, suggesting I need 2120 SC's to be P1, but then saying I actually need 2,700SC's..

Does earning 1350 SC's inside DSC period (total earned SC's would be 2700) count towards P1?The 2120 SC is correct to reach minimum 3600 SC for platinum one. As part of the 3600 total, a minimum 2700 must be flown with a QF flight number.
All P1 counters state the 2700 SC requirement on QF flight numbers.
The total amount required is 3600 SC and you are 2120 short. It does not say how many of your earned SC so far are on QF flight numbers.
I think you're misunderstanding that.
To attain P1 you must earn 3600 SCs in a year. Unlike at all other levels of the program where SC from any flight are eligible for status requalification, there is an additional requirement for P1s to earn at least 2700 of their total 3600 on Qantas marketed flights. That is what that graphic is explaining.

Thank you all, I got it, 2700 of the 3600 must be on QF. it was "Of these" part that was misleading me. It would be better worded as "2700 or the total". Thought it might've been another QF IT gremlin.Does earning 1350 SC's inside DSC period (total earned SC's would be 2700) count towards P1?
Yes it does.Does earning 1350 SC's inside DSC period (total earned SC's would be 2700) count towards P1?
Yes, 2700 SC count towards P1. Additional benefits such as Platinum Bonus Reward upon reaching 2400 SC (Earn 50,000pts) will not work as bonus SC are not counted.Does earning 1350 SC's inside DSC period (total earned SC's would be 2700) count towards P1?
Ah ha! So earning all 3600 SC's from DSC would not afford the 2400 Bonus reward, as the non DSC would only come to 1800 (600 SC's short) - got it!Yes, 2700 SC count towards P1. Additional benefits such as Platinum Bonus Reward upon reaching 2400 SC (Earn 50,000pts) will not work as bonus SC are not counted.
So technically, you can achieve P1 through DSC; however if you do not earn 2400 SC normally, you don’t get that additional platinum award?Yes, 2700 SC count towards P1. You are correct. So technically, you can achieve P1 through DSC; however if you do not earn 2400 SC normally, you don’t get that additional platinum award?
P1 also comes with the added benefit of gifting someone with Platinum status… so if you earned 2400SC naturally AND get P1, you can give one person gold and another platinum status?
I couldn’t find someone to give the Gold to this year so I took 50K points insteadSo technically, you can achieve P1 through DSC; however if you do not earn 2400 SC normally, you don’t get that additional platinum award?

Better to follow Qantas' T&Cs than get in trouble for gifting gold to someone random (or for $). 50K is still some amount to subsidise for a toasterI couldn’t find someone to give the Gold to this year so I took 50K points instead![]()

Both Gold at 2500 and comp platinum can be gifted to friends. There's no requirement for the recipient to be family so I don't see how it would be breaking any rules? AFF users have gifted complimentary gold (and once platinum IIRC) memberships to other forum members previously.
But the 50k points has significant value !
Good point but which benefits would you add that aren’t already there ?Call me selfish but I’d much rather benefits I can use than expand my gifting capabilities
