Yeah, very token service.
I wonder what loads are like because it’s great timing IMO. Leave MEL Saturday morning and up there by lunch and hotel check in time.
With their financial difficulties I guess they don’t want to stretch themselves which is a pity

It's about time Qantas returned the A330 to the DPS run from the eastern coast. Traveling in J, the forward daylight B 737 service is tolerable but not the "situp" overnight return.

This is really helpful for our Melbourne office, cuts down on need to transit. Good news.

Looks like as a result of this, there has been some shuffling of aircraft. A380 is returning to HKG, the new 787 service to SIN is reverting to a 330 after month and MEL-HKG temporarily suspended.

Surprising that A380 is returning to HKG so fast.

Other changes will be required to DPS due to the bilateral capacity allocation

There are 10 A333 and 16 A332 online - which is all of them bar 1 I believe

Due to Indonesian bilaterals, some down-gauging on existing JQ services to Bali will be required.

Likely some MEL and possibly some BNE 787 services will be downgauged to A320s or A321neos to accommodate QF's MEL-CGK service.

I suspect they don't have enough planes up and running. Not all have been brought back into service.. yet.

They could run the A380 on QF93 on alternate days (787 on the others), as originally planned from March.

I assume the seat capacity from this is coming from all these downgraded Jetstar 787 to A321 flights?

The Perth to Jakarta capacity went to A330 DPS capacity from memory.

Reportedly the Indonesia-Australia bilateral capacity restrictions is capped to the 5 capitals. VA's upcoming OOL-DPS is outside that bilateral as that falls under regional. AVV and MCY could also serve as overflow DPS capacity for MEL and BNE respectively as well.
