I once spnet 8 hours at MKY between flights and did not realize there was a lounge there!

But with regional lounges you’re only allowed to use them an hour before you flight, is that right? So no matter if you were there for 8 hours, you’d only get an hour usage.

Not as a WP, which was my status at the time, there was no toilet in there and just a self serve bar, 6 lounges and a TV, so we did not miss much!

I didn’t realise anytime lounge access applied to regional lounges too, as I thought they had a slightly different set of rules.

I arrived in on Monday and didn't see it, how on earth did I miss it in such a tiny place! Will try again in a couple of weeks

It is on your left immediately inside the entrance to the terminal at the check-in end; when you get your boarding pass they will give you a code number and you put this into the keypad next to the door. If they don't give you a code, just ask!

I was there this morning. No staff in attendance - it is self service on an houour system and you just make yourself at home. I understand that this is the "template" for future QL regional lounges in the eastern states.

Can you still bring guests who are not travelling to these Regional lounges?

Is there wireless, and whats the food and drink selection like (is it worth showing up early?!)?

Regional lounges have the same access rules as associated lounges for international locations:

Fly - The Qantas Club - Lounge Access


Access to Associated lounges
You will be welcome at associated lounges in most international ports that Qantas flies to but where it does not operate its own lounge or partner airline lounge. Our associated lounges are operated by, or on behalf of, other airlines.^^ Present your Qantas Club, Platinum or Gold Frequent Flyer card at check-in and again with your boarding pass at the lounge reception. You may also invite one guest. Again, both you and your guest need to be travelling together further that day on a Qantas marketed flight.++ If you are taking a domestic flight, your guest does not need to be travelling. ##
^^Lounges are not available in ports that are only serviced by Qantas codeshare flights.
++ Qantas marketed means a flight with a 'QF' flight number on your ticket.

Just noticed this thread - there has been a lounge at Coffs Harbour for some time now. I think I can remember my first visit back in 2007.

While it was not branded a QF lounge, if you were a CL/WP they gave us a code on the boarding pass and you just had to punch in the numbers.

It was all self service and was not airside. I imagine this is still the case.

Went to Karratha the other day and it would have to be the worst QP I have ever seen. Dodgy entry behind the check-in counters and is the size of a sardine can. At least Kalgoorlie has a bit of space!

The previous lounge at CFS was only somewhere quiet to sit as far as I know, didn´t see food or drinks on the two occasions I was there. The new QC is still very small but includes snacks, tea & coffee, and a self service bar.

While small and quaint, it is probably adequate for a regional port like CFS and far better than sitting with the crowd (if you can get a seat).

Not sure about WiFi.

Will be there next Sunday to check it out. I don't know what the alure is of a new lounge but it gets me excited!

There is WiFi.

Handy little place when your flight is delayed. I have only ever found there to be one or two other people in there so it's very quiet.
