Many microwaves have a "Sound" button which we simply do not see. :)
Found the Sound button on my microwave today when I went looking for it.

  • Oven: Keeping consistent with the cooktop, and looking at a 60cm Westinghouse. There are 2 higher end models, the first has airfryer functionality (costing $150 more) and the second has airfryer functionality as well as pyrolytic cleaning (costing $300 more). I have a standalone airfryer so that isn't particularly appealing, but the pyrolytic cleaning sounds interesting at least.

i recently replaced a ~30yo Swedish-made Asko dishwasher with a Bosch Series 6, but would've bought IKEA if i an integrated one had suited

i also recently replaced my Dyson V6 with a V10, which i use for odd jobs, else have a Miele MedicAir as well - apparently Miele cordless aren't as good as their bagged vacuum cleaners, with some people i know preferring Samsung over both, due to their cleaning station and not needing to keep a finger on the trigger when using

other home stuff that i'm in the midst of buying are a new bed / latex mattress and doona (Eiderdown)

Got me looking at the Ikea site. One of my favourite frypans is cast iron I bought from Ikea for $4 in 1984. Some of their current cooking range looks ok. Their carbon steel pans look like cheap versions of de Buyer. Love my de Buyer deep carbon steel pan. Their stainless pots have riveted handles too.

If you are a union member you likely have access to the Union Shopper service. You let them know the best price you can find and they typically look at JB HiFi or The Good Guys and come back with the trade price which is usually decent. On a previous purchase, the local TGG sales representative said to always talk to someone in store (phone is fine) and they will likely better the deal. Bought a new Bosch dishwasher a couple of weeks ago. Got a great price through Union Shopper and TGG. Got a further 5% discount ringing the local store. Happy Chappy.
