Technical Fault There Won’t Be Any Inflight Entertainment

Sorry to hear that. They need to pull the aircraft from service & fix the entertainment system!

They said the aircraft would have to have been substantially delayed. That can be accepted. But what annoys me is that we were only given a $15 voucher, well below what we were given in January last year (a $50 voucher). I bought 3 300-page books from home ($15 wouldn't be enough to even buy one at an airport) and got through all of them only about 8 hours in.

I think if a poll is done, most people would say get me to destination rather than takean aircraft out of service with the resulting cancellations/delays.

This is the nature of a fully utilised fleet unfortunately. QF said they kept "spare capacity at the Dec/Jan peak period last year. However, that never made any sense to me because if there was spare capacity at a peak operational period, why would there not be spare capacity at lower demand periods (if the current period is a lower demand period)
