Just submitted my last assignment... once it is marked and I pass, I'll have a Diploma in OHS!

Next task is to update my resume and look for a new job or promotion.

My greatest fear in life is that I will lose someone I love before their time is up. Condolences to your work friend and their family.

No mate - I just did a TAFE course and have now enrolled in the Grad Dip through QUT... It'll be a step up from the diploma and they won't give me any RPL :evil: except for the health component.

I found out yesterday that my application to study has been accepted. I haven't studied in 17yrs and am a bit concerned that I'll struggle.

You'll be fine, Shelf - I went back and did a post-grad degree after 26 years away. It was a real challenge at first but once you work out what's what and how things are done now, you're actually bringing a lot more to the table than you could have done when you were fresh out of school. Good luck!

Really, my brother got a fair bit of Rpl at QUT for his tafe course. But that was a few years ago.

Not now unfortunately... I have applied for occ hygiene as RPL based on work experience and they are considering it. There's still a little hope left.

The 'problem' with RPL for educational institutions is that every subject where RPL is granted there is one less opportunity to charge a fee.

Don't worry I went back to University 17 years after I graduated.Did 2 years of Japanese and loved it.Only needed another 3 units and I could have added a BA after my name but then they introduced HECs so I didn't need it that much.I was the classes "father figure".

Congrats, you'll be fine. Lecturers love mature aged students, we only attend because we really want to be there and put in the effort.

Did my first degree in my 30s and loved it.
