The bonus offer does not appear to be dependent upon activity. I and another family member have booked two overseas trips in the last month. Travelling together and paid for from each of our accounts.
I have received the 100% offer and the other member nothing. If it is targeted I am having trouble seeing the criteria used.

I don't earn the big bucks you earn and try to travel the cheapest way possible. That does not mean there aren't bargains in these type of threads. I miss BMI. Travel in premium cabins to Asia for ~$1000-$1200 and with Hilton stays and car hire it became even cheaper.

Looking at buying miles to top up after the last offer for another European trip for the family in 2015. Unfortunately not all members of the family received offers for this promo. Can someone clarify if I gift miles, is this the same cost as buying? So wish to buy 30,000 and get a bonus for myself, then gift 30,000 with bonus to another member of the family.

Yes. No difference. I do this all the time with targeted promos when not all of the 4 accounts I manage get the promo. I 'buy' with the ones that got it and 'gift' to the ones that didn't from the ones that did

Indeed it is, but the choice is overwhelming and time off work is scarce! My big "to do" places in the next 5 years include Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Guam/Palau, Central +/- South America +/- Antarctica, and Eastern Europe. Hard to know which to do when, and how long to spend in each!

Just topped up to 50k points in anticipation of a share promo hopefully in the next few months. Only got 75% bonus but it had to be done. Might top up the wife's USDMs account to 20k or so, so we have enough for a Euro Business Return. That is assuming the share promo is a 50k+50k.
